About me
Eight years inside systems that aren’t allowed to fail.
I’m Filip Szarek, a senior software engineer. Java and Kotlin on the backend, TypeScript and React when the work reaches the front, AWS underneath most of it.
My career has been spent in domains where an outage is an invoice: insurance policy platforms at Allstate and First American, global travel distribution at RITS, industrial data for the energy and marine sectors at TechnipFMC, and identity and integration work today at j-labs.
I’m genuinely interested in finding a new approach rather than reaching for the one I used last time, and equally interested in the end user getting what they actually needed. On a team that mostly shows up as deep design reviews, better observability, and fewer surprises at release.
Strengths I lean on, for what it’s worth: harmony, discipline, restorative, consistency, responsibility. INTJ, if that’s a language you speak.
